Best Instagrammable Places in Prague for Travel Inspiration

Instagrammable Places in Prague

As the largest city in the Czech Republic, Prague is not only the pride of the country but the entire European region. It is one of the most picturesque places you’ll ever visit in Europe, which makes it a go-to spot for Instagram users. You can take as many beautiful photos as you want because there are so many great locations in this historic city that photograph so well.

If you want your Instagram feed to look like a city catalog, here are all the Instagrammable places in Prague you must visit:

Instagrammable Places in Prague

Prague Castle

Located in the city center, Prague Castle is the beating heart that has magnificently highlighted Prague’s beauty for more than a thousand years. The gargoyles, cobbled streets, and St. Vitus’ Cathedral are just a few spots for your Instagram feed.

You can also take stunning photos from across the castle gates by posing on the staircase. If you’re lucky, you can spot the hidden Starbucks and snap a few pictures of Prague’s skyline.

Devil’s Stream

Devil’s Stream is not a hidden or undiscovered Prague spot for Tom Cruise’s fans. Those who’ve watched Mission: Impossible can vouch for the breathtaking backdrop it provides for anything from photos to videos.

The stream, unlike its name, is a peaceful spot with bridges and balconies adding to the charm. The buildings on either side of the Devil’s Stream almost give it a Venice vibe!

St. Nicholas Church

The outside is just as beautiful as the inside of St. Nicholas Church in Prague. It was built in 1755 as a breathtaking architectural marvel, and it continues to be among the most visited places in Prague.

The church seems like a peaceful place where you can enjoy some quiet time and snap a few photos for your Instagram feed, but it hasn’t always been this calm. The Communist era was the harshest on the church when State Security would use the spire to spy on Yugoslav and American embassies.

Charles Bridge

When you travel to Prague, you take at least one or three photos of Charles Bridge to upload to your Instagram feed.

It’s like an unspoken rule to always capture some scenic photos of Charles Bridge! In 1402, the bridge was constructed to replace an older one, but for the ones living in the 21st century, the new one is also OLD.

There’s nothing to worry about, though. It’s a safe and sturdy bridge with significant statues that make for a great backdrop.

Church of Our Lady Victorious

If you don’t Instagram the Church of Our Lady Victorious when you are in Prague, you might as well have missed the most important Instagrammable places in the city. It’s the church where ‘Infant of Prague,’ an ancient statue of young Jesus Christ, resides.

Outside, there’s not much to the church unless you tour the location in winter when the scene is set with fairy lights. Inside, you can snap photos of the altar or visit the free gallery of the fashion collection for Baby Jesus.

Petrin Tower

If you haven’t been to Paris, you can experience a similar ambiance at the Petrin Tower. It looks like the Eiffel Tower, and it’s even lit up like it at night.

If you want to capture Prague’s nighttime shot, you can visit Petrin Tower at night–it’s open until 11 pm. It’s not a coincidence that the Petrin Tower looks like the Eiffel Tower.

When the Club of Czech Tourists visited Paris in 1889, they were inspired by the tower’s beauty and decided to create their own little Paris in Prague!

Lennon Wall

The Lennon Wall is a significant spot for tourists in Prague. It’s been one of the most loved places in the city since the 1980s. The wall reminds people of the Communist era and how people were desperate to free themselves from it with the help of the wall. Artists like John Lennon have been favorites of Czechs since their global success, and the Lennon Wall shows their love and appreciation for the lyrics that inspired freedom of expression. You can click photos on this spot with the wall in the background.

Golden Lane

Golden Lane is located within the Prague Castle complex, providing an adorable and scenic view of one of the most Instagrammable places in Prague.

With low doorways and tiny cottages, Golden Lane is a lovely array of pinks, pale blue, bold yellow, and terracotta.

You can snap photos in different poses and locations to capture the beauty of the colorful street. You’ll need to buy a ticket to enter Golden Lane before making it a permanent spot on your Instagram feed.

Crawling Babies

Historical spots are not the only specialty of Prague. The city can be weird and outright creepy at times, like the Crawling Babies spot.

The statues are called Miminka, which means babies in Czech.

They are creepy but Instagrammable, so make sure you keep your expression positive or at least neutral for the photos while you are here. David Černý, a local artist, installed these nightmares in 2010.

Astronomical Clock

Charles Bridge is the first place you must visit in Prague, and Astronomical Clock is probably the second. It’s a staple in Prague with its Instagram-worthy look.

People from all over the world visit Prague to watch the clock approach the hour. The Astronomical Clock has been the pride of Prague ever since it was installed in 1410. It’s the third-oldest clock of its type in the world but the oldest in operation.

#MondoExplorerTip: Make sure to get there early before the crowd gathers, so you can get a clear photo without a tone of other tourists in the background!

Yellow Penguins

You can let these cute critters make you forget about the nightmarish crawling babies.

On the banks of River Vltava, the yellow penguins align and wait for photographers to capture their glorious beauty. The placement of these penguins is super meaningful.

They are made of recycled plastic and aligned in a row waiting for a boat to their home continent, Antarctica. The art gives you an opportunity to click some great photos, but don’t forget to spread the environmental message associated with it!

Klementinum

Most people say that libraries can be boring but not this Prague library that creates picturesque scenes for Instagram users. You can capture beautiful images of Klementinum’s Library Hall and upload them to get praise for your photography skills.

The hall is full of dark shelves, antique books, and globes forming a line.

Municipal Library of Prague

Another library in Prague has Instagrammable spots to capture. Prague’s central library has a unique spot that you can’t miss for your Instagram feed. It’s the book tower.

Up the second staircase in the library, the book tower looks magnificent! You can snap pictures near the tower or put your head inside to experience vertigo and capture that for your Instagram account.
